Another Successful Year of Invest in Girls

The Invest in Girls program had another fantastic year and wrapped up last Friday with a site visit at Fidelity Investments’ corporate office in Durham, NC. Invest in Girls is a CEE program that partners with high schools and financial institutions across the nation. Over this year, volunteers from Fidelity Investments came to five schools to teach, mentor and inspire young women to take charge in their financial futures and career paths.

The program builds financial foundations for girls, with subject areas like budgeting, credit, taxes, and investing, as well as career path skills such as interviewing and presentation in the workplace. The program concluded with a site visit at Fidelity, that was started by a congressional greetings’ speech made by U.S Representative Valerie Foushee. The day included networking activities, a tour of the building, talks given by guest speakers and plenty of opportunity for mentorship. NCCEE values the IIG program and commemorates the end of another incredible year.

The Invest in Girls Program was made possible in part through generous funding from CEE and Fidelity Investments.
