A big part of what we do here at NCCEE is making sure that teachers have the knowledge, skills, and tools in order to be better prepared to educate future generations of economically literate citizens. We do so by offering in-service training at no cost to schools or teachers and by providing educators with sample lesson plans, teaching strategies, and resources they can use in their own classroom to further their students’ economic literacy.
Examples of the topics we’ve covered at teacher workshops in the past include:
- Math in the Real World
- Virtual Economics
- Financing Your Future
- Wide World of Trade
- Financial Fitness for Life
- Mathematics & Economics-Connections for Life
- Teaching Economics Using Children’s Literature
- Common Sense Economics
- Economics & US History
- World Geography: Focus on Economics
- Understanding Fiscal Responsibility
Upon request, we will gladly visit a school or school district to train teachers on a variety of economic and financial concepts via our professional development sessions. Please contact us to learn more about our professional development offerings.
