Using Competitions to Teach Economics and Personal Finance

Last Friday’s workshop “Using Competitions to Teach Economics and Personal Finance” was a success! 18 high school teachers attended and got signed up to have their students participate in the Stock Market Game. Participants also learned how to get started with the Economics Challenge and the Personal Finance Challenge. 5 teachers signed up for both challenges by the end of the workshop. All competitions get students working in teams, build confidence, while improving their understanding of economics and personal finance concepts! A special thanks to Union Pines High School for hosting us and to our presenters Amber Thomas and Danielle Szaro! Are you interested in getting your middle or high school students involved in some friendly, virtual competition?
