NCCEE Celebrates Financial Literacy Month with an Abundance of Family Financial Fun Nights

This Financial Literacy Month, NCCEE hosted 4 Family Financial Fun Nights that drew more than 600 parents and students. Family Financial Fun Nights get kids and their families talking about personal finance concepts, planting seeds for the future of students’ overall financial preparedness. Volunteers facilitate conversation through fun, interactive activities and offer resources for children and adults to take home. Activities are curated for grades K-12, with examples such as budgeting for a pet, or a simulation that calculates the average income needed for a student’s desired lifestyle. Volunteers engaged with families at Shadybrook Elementary, Havelock Middle School, Parkside Elementary and Fox Road Elementary. It was truly an incredible month of financial empowerment in NC!

These Family Financial Fun Nights were made possible in part by generous funding from State Farm, JP Morgan Chase, and the Council for Economic Education.
