NCCEE Congratulates All Who Participated in This Year’s Academic Competitions

After the 2023-2024 academic competitions wrapped up, NCCEE congratulated everyone who participated by hosting awards banquets for the Eastern and Western student team divisions of North Carolina. The ceremonies included speeches from NCCEE board members and the Executive Director, Sandy Wheat, thanking students, families and teachers for their time. Awards were given out to winning teams of the NC Personal Finance Challenge and Economics Challenge, as well as the Stock Market Game, and InvestWrite Challenge. For the NC Personal Finance Challenge, and Economics Challenge, certificates were given to students recognizing the teams with the “highest written score” as well as “highest presentation score”. The high school finalists of the Personal Finance Challenge will compete nationally in Cleveland, Ohio on May 19th.

The NC Personal Finance Challenge was made possible in part by generous funding from the Council for Economic Education and Ally Bank. The challenge was presented in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. The NC Economics Challenge was made possible in part by generous funding from Ally Bank and Dr. Inder Nijhawan, Professor Emeritus, Fayetteville State University. The challenge was presented in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. The Stock Market Game was made possible in part by generous funding from Coastal Credit Union Foundation and Ally Bank.
