Teaching Economics Using Children’s Literature was a Great Success

NCCEE had a great time with elementary teachers from all around the state at Meredith College! During “Teaching Economics Using Children’s Literature” 36 attendants learned how to incorporate books like The Giving Tree, The Berenstain Bears, and Those Shoes into fun, and interactive lesson plans for grades K-5! Teachers participated in activities like breaking down personal finance vocab in the Berenstain Bears “Meaning of Money” and designing their own shoes to compete in a class marketing competition. It was a fantastic day of collaborative, hands-on learning and inspiring to see the dedication these educators have in helping their students financially thrive! Be sure to keep up with all our upcoming workshops and events here!
